London Paris New York (2012)

Its a total time-pass movie, two hours felt like few minutes.Ali Zafar looks young in first half,in second half he looks like Robert Downey Junior out of Sherlock Holmes. This is actress Anu Menon's directorial debut.http://www.facebook.com/lpnythemovie

Sameer Arya cinematographer of "Koi Mil Gaya" has done great job here and is praised in most of the critic's reviews.Zafar Ali's music too is good. Its a nice movie for the weekend.

Diary of a Butterfly (2012) Review

http://www.diaryofabutterfly.in/

Diary of a Butterfly (2012) gives you the feel of a B-grade movie with lousy attempts at sensuality and titillation. Its a film which those old Cinema Halls used to screen where generally X-rated films were shown. It appears pretty low-budgeted and not much effort is made on any side to make it any better.
Songs and cinematography are just so and so.

Udita Goswami plays a woman who wants to achieve success quickly. She goes from Jaipur to Mumbai and joins a fashion design firm. She then sleeps with a guy to turn the tables on him and kick him out of the company. Then she fools her boss and a big order goes to the rival firm which she soon joins to get a big Bungalow and two cars.Film ends with her being very cool and frank in attitude.Udita could have done better but she is wasted and she does not take care of herself at all.Her dresses or her look in the entire movie is not at all taken care of.Seems like she woke from sleep and started doing this film.

Supporting cast is from good performances by Rati Agnihotri & Nassar Abdulla to average by Aryan Vaid. Its still a time-pass because of some gritty feminist dialogues.Would recommend it for women in bad relationships or as a tonic for them to fend themselves.

Paan Singh Tomar (2010) Review

Its very different from usual run of the mill stuff or the silly comedies we get now and then. Its more on the lines of "The Great Escape" in the second half and as good as that movie.Every detail has been taken care of and its a well made polished gem of a film.I saw it at PVR today in Matinee Show,it was almost houseful and everybody just loved the movie. Its very well written and dialogues are full of wit and humour and the rustic feel. Its a very enjoyable entertaining movie that tells the real life story of steeplechase champion Athlete Paan Singh Tomar and his transformation into a dreaded Chambal Dacoit.

Irrfan Khan has done a wonderful job here, his remarks many times bring smile on audience faces and make them laugh. His relation with his wife and his home life is depicted very realistically. The village locales or the vast barren Chambal locales are quite splendid.Director Tigmanshu Dhulia deftly directs this movie that traverse several decades and 3 Continents and also travels through jungles and valleys and cities of 3 Indian states.
