Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu (2012) Review

Did not liked this movie much and Imran really irritated in several scenes still think young audience will like this movie for it has so much else to offer.

Its story line has some similarities with Anjaana Anjaani (2010) which was really so boring that I went to sleep and Neal 'N' Nikki (2005) which had more spunk than this.Kareena is hair-stylist who bumps into Imran at a Shrink appointment.Next thing happens both get so drunk that they marry.Next they set about annulling their marriage. But still they remain friends in the end.

Movie is very funny at places and the humour is never loud or on your face. The whole introduction scenes of Imran an uptight guy and his growing up with control freak and disciplinarian  pop Boman Irani and Mom Ratna Pathak is hilarious. The party scene too is funny where an aunty fondles Imran's butt while her husband is giving him visiting card of an escort company.

Kareena's intro scene too is funny where she talks about her psycho-suspicious boy friend who send his friends to tail her around. At the shrink's office she mistakes Imran for one of her boyfriend's crony send to snoop after her and hits him with his own Medical file. This movie surely could have been better but still its very likable at many places.

Music & Songs by Amit Trivedi are OK especially the "Talli" one.Dialogues are very natural and well written, cinematography too is good.Treatment of the story and the way characters are presented is very fresh and unique. The film could have done with a little more depth though.Shakun Batra has done OK for a first film but can do better.Interesting to note that on imdb.com Kareena is also credited as "Second Unit Director or Assistant Director" for this movie.

Here Imran does reminded me so much of Tobey Maguire. The climax of the movie is really very different from any movie I have seen before where Imran mistakes Kareena's affection for Romantic Love.He gets upset when she tells him that she considers him a dear friend and nothing else.In the end he returns to her to continue their friendship and also hoping that she would some day change her mind.
