Dangerous Ishhq (2012) - Review

After  leaving silver screen for her sister to rule,Karisma is back with this reincarnation movie spanning 3 births and 600 years. Her last widely appreciated movie was Zubeida, though her last movie was in 2009 the much delayed Zamaanat with Amitabh, who was to be her father in law till she call off her engagement.Abhishek and she starred in "Haan maine bhi pyar kiya" which was a dud.Ek Rishtaa was her last successful movie with Akshaya and Amitabh. She is most widely known for "Raja Hindustani" with Aamir Khan and "Dil to Pagal Hai" for which she won Filmfare award and of course those classic comedies like Hero No.1 and Coolie No.1 with Govinda and David Dhawan.

Coming back to this movie its a patient watch, its not a fast paced movie like recent "Tez" but an intricately woven saga which folds open up slowly like a blooming bud of red rose.Rajneesh Duggal impresses as the main lead against Karisma. His cute smile, his tenderness in emotional scenes makes him endearing.Karisma does pretty well here too in almost every scene, though at sporadic places camera does not seem to be nice to her.She does seem like Dorothy from "Wizard of Oz" whenever she opens the door to a medieval fort and setting or to the ravaged rioting Pakistan just after partition or the tumultuous times of end of Shah Jahan era marked by rise of evil Aurangzeb.

Jimmy Shergill chooses movie with extreme care even if its a supporting part he does extremely well whether in "Tanu weds Manu" , "My name is Khan" or "Saahib Biwi aur Gangster".His role is pivotal to the movie and he performs well here.He and Karisma share some chemistry in the first scene they have in the movie, you just hope they come as lead pair in some movie.

Ravi Kishan plays a Rajput Senapati and his sudden appearance is shocking. He has acted pretty well here, this birth having Meerabai in it played by Gracy Singh and a local Rajput Witch, brewing potions to peep in Karisma's private affairs. This is what is at the depth of all later births.Divya Dutta ably supports Karisma.Himesh Reshamiya music is unsuitable why they choose him for this period movie is weird.Movie is crafted carefully and is good watch. No it has nothing to do with Urmila's Kambakth Ishq.
