Nasha (2013) is the latest version of "Summer of '42 {1971}" and is fresh and youthful.I had heard of Poonam Pandey antics especially during the last world cup and did not expected her to be any good,so I was pleasantly surprised by her performance which was as good as any Hollywood actress.She is full of poise even in the most difficult scenes especially where her student sees her naked which reminds me of "Mera Naam Joker" where young Rishi Kapoor sees his Teacher Simi Grewal naked.By her looks and athletic body she reminds me much of those Hollywood actresses.Why she never before came in any movie is anybody's guess.
Shivam Patil as Saahil is talked of in the movie as good looking which he is not,he instead looks simple and innocent more like Rajendra Kumar.He has acted really well and seem so composed and at ease in the bed-scene climax with his teacher.He shows the common young male psyche where they are obsessed with a woman for sex and as soon as they get it they get over this thing they choose to call love.Movie depicts today's times when college girls having sex with their boy-friend is a norm.Their friends too respect them being a couple,instead of waiting till marriage to have sex.
The two Uncles have their role well etched and are intrinsic to the plot.The scene where Saahil pushes of his Uncle is really good which shows many time teenagers when in an angry mood forget themselves and are rude or hurtful to people who love them.But when the anger subsides they feel quite sorry for what they did.We seldom see such movie instead we get over the top shouting crazy movie like "Mere dad Ki Maruti".
I liked this movie,but can't say that for the three guys sitting next to me who kept on saying "what is this movie about".
