Raj Kapoor's "Chori Chori" released in Colour

Ultra has done a fabulous job in restoring and coloring this blockbuster Raj Kapoor-Nargis film. Background, outdoor locations, lovely costumes and jewellery come alive in color.Beside the lovely visuals there are 9 great songs from Shankar-Jaikishan sung beautifully by Lata Mangeshkar,Mohd.Rafi,Asha Bhosle and Manna Dey.Plot of this movie is inspired from Clark Gable classic "It happened one Night".This AVM produced movie has lovely Glimpses of Tamil culture like the dance performed by Travancore Sisters "Manbhavan Ke Ghar Jaye".

Raj Kapoor and Nargis perform well and look so fresh in color.Pran who just passed away yesterday looks so photogenic here.Gope is cast here as Nargis's father and does great. There are two cameos of Comic greats one by Johnny Walker and other by Bhagwan.

Besides "Manbhavan Ke Ghar Jaye","Panchi Banoo Udti Phiroon" too has always been my favorite song from this movie and it looks great in color farmers and fields and river all coming alive to make a cinematic picturesque background."Aaja Sanam Madhur Chandni Mein Hum" and "Yeh Raat Bheegi Bheegi" too are a joy to watch."Rasik Balma" is a great Classic from Lata.

"Jahan Main Jaati Hoon" is a interesting song done with Puppets."Sawa Lakh Ki Lottery" is a funny song filmed on Bhagwan and "All Line Clear" another fun song filmed on Johnny Walker.

Thanks to Ultra for such a pioneering work.
