The Pink Panther

yesterday afternoon saw The Pink Panther (1963),the dvd had a great print like a brand new film, quite an elegant film.dialogues were really good.it has the oscar nominated music by henry mancini.cinematography is excellent and captures the beautiful locales.well directed and edited film,it goes from rome to france to hollywood.the pink panther is a diamond belonging to Princess Dala (Claudia Cardinale) who is an indian princess she looks fine in a saree.

Robert Wagner plays George Lytton nephew to david niven.he discovers that his uncle is the jewel theif, also he falls in love with simone.he was first married to natalie wood in 1957 the 3 time oscar nominee (star of films like west side story and rebel without a cause) but later divorced, after almost 20 years they remarried in 1972,she drowned to death in 1981.

peter sellers plays the cop whose wife Simone Clouseau(Capucine) is mixed with the jewel theif played by david niven who starred in"around the world in 80 days".
capucine was a close friend of audrey hepburn who saved her life many time, she being prone to suicide.capucine finally commited suicide in 1990 by jumping of from 8 th floor, leaving behind her 3 pet cats.
they had a very funny scene where simone carries champagne to bed and when they are in bed it accidently pops open spilling wine everywhere.
